Welcome to Peaceful Place

We are a small charity supported by and serving people in South East Essex with over 20 years experience of helping people with young onset dementia and those that care for them.

We are excited to announce that we have moved to our new day centre at Timberlog Lane, Basildon

The new day centre project started at the beginning of the year with the refurbishment of an existing bungalow and out-building which has now been developed into a specialist day centre to meet the needs of  our members who are living with young onset dementia.

With thanks to funding from The Heath Trust for the building purchase and a generous grant from Veolia Pitsea Marshes Maintenance Trust, we have been able to transform the buildings to include a sensory room, dementia sensory garden, art studio and large communal dining area.

Our new day centre is in a central location with excellent transport links to the A13 and A127 enabling us to now support individuals in Thurrock, Brentwood and Billericay as well as continuing to support those in Southend, Castle Point and Rochford, Wickford, Hockley, Hullbridge and Great Wakering.

The day centre will also be a community hub where local groups and organisations can use our facilities for training, meetings and other events.

We are delighted that Veolia Pitsea Marshes Maintenance Trust has confirmed a second grant of £144,000 of funding for refurbishment of our new specialist day centre in Timberlog Lane in Basildon. This is in addition to the £300,000 grant received earlier in the year that enabled us to start the refurbishment project. The day centre building will be named 'The Veolia Centre' as a tribute to the Trust that has made the project possible for Peaceful Place.
