Located in Rochford, the Peaceful Place Day Centre offers adults with young onset dementia the opportunity to take part in a wide range of stimulating activities in a safe and friendly environment. At the same time carers benefit from often much needed respite.
Our service includes a door to door minibus service that enables us to maintain regular contact with the carers and families of our members.
What we do
Operating weekdays with a high staff to member ratio, our aim is to stimulate the mental, physical and social skills of our members. We achieve this by providing a wide range of recreational activities such as:
- Pool, air hockey & table tennis
- Art, crafts & pottery
- Model making & woodworking
- Pub games & quizzes
- Outings & restaurant visits
- Baking & gardening
- Live music & guest speakers
- Life story books & Digital reminiscence
- Singing & dancing
- Keep fit
- Pet & drum therapy
Who can be referred
Younger adults, under 65 years old with a diagnosis of dementia or cognitive impairment and living within the Rochford, Castle Point, Southend, Basildon, Brentwood and Wickford area.
